125 kg of saffron was harvested in Hamedan province

Deputy Director of Horticulture of Hamedan Jihad-e-Agriculture Organization says about saffron:
The main origin of saffron was from Hamedan, so that in a city in Tuyserkan called Rudavar which was the main source of saffron cultivation

He said that in the past, the cultivation of this crop has been more,
adding that the continuity of this crop continued until the cultivation
of this crop was replaced by alternative and profitable crops,
because it needs a lot of domestic workers.

This saffron expert of Hamedan Jihad-e-Agriculture Organization stated:
In the last four years, more people have turned to cultivating this crop,
so that last year 32 hectares of the province’s farms were cultivated
with this crop and we estimate that this year it will increase to 40 hectares.

Malayer has 15 hectares of the total cultivated area.

He also said that the cultivation of this crop requires two stages of waterlogging irrigation, one in late September and the other in October,
which requires a total of three thousand cubic meters of water annually.

Bayat, stating that the Jihad-e-Agriculture Organization of Hamedan province does not have special credit to increase the cultivation of this crop.
