The director of Jihad-e-Keshavarzi of Malayer city said: so far, 23 hectares of lands have been cultivated with saffron and it is predicted that four kilograms of saffron will be harvested from each hectare with excellent quality.
Gholamhossein Taghavi added: Considering the water restrictions in the country and according to the policies of the Ministry of Jihad-e-Agriculture in protecting water resources, saffron as one of the low-water and profitable plants can be a good alternative for high-water crops.
He stated: In Hamedan province, the policy is to develop the cultivation of plants such as saffron, medicinal plants and greenhouse crops.
Taqwa pointed out: In this regard, the government provides the necessary facilities to farmers so that farmers can refer to the management of Jihad-e-Agriculture in Malayer city for how to use the necessary facilities and permits.
