25% reduction in saffron production in Torbat Heydariyeh region

The director of Jihad Keshavarzi of Torbat Heydariyeh city said:
the amount of saffron production in the current crop year was only 29 tons,
which indicates a decrease of 25% compared to last year.

Mohammad Reza Abbaspour added:
Our forecast from the total of eight thousand and 900 hectares of saffron cultivated lands was close to 38 production,
but due to lack of rainfall in autumn and winter last year and the increase in heat this summer, we faced this decrease.

In response to the criticism of some saffron growers that the Torbat Heydariyeh
Saffron Exchange has refused to buy any kind of saffron and therefore they have been forced to offer their saffron at a low price in the market this year, he said:
First, a private exchange and subject to special standards.
He is himself and we can not compile instructions for him.
Secondly, last year, when the government implemented the agreement plan, out of a total of 300 tons of saffron produced,
only 70 Tomans were purchased.

Abbaspour, stating that the storage capacity of the Torbat Heydariyeh Stock Exchange is limited, said:
If the stock exchange wants to acquire new capacity,
it must pay 15 billion tomans in collateral and insurance to the stock exchange per ton.

He said:
If a buyer from the other side of the world wants to buy Torbat Heydariyeh saffron,
it is the legal right of the stock exchange to offer goods that have passed the laboratory analysis sieve and are perfect in every way,
because if not, trust The stock market disappears.

Abbaspour added:
On the other hand, we have repeatedly told farmers to refuse to supply their products during the saffron harvest season and in fact,
it is the fault of these farmers who supply saffron at once and in large quantities,
which causes the price to drop.

He also answered the question that farmers have incurred high costs for harvesting their crops and have no choice but to sell:
Those who deliver their saffron to the stock exchange,
the stock exchange company has signed a contract with Bank Melli that for each Kilo of saffron delivered,
the bank pays a loan of 10 million tomans to farmers with an 18% fee.

Shojaei, stating that we intend to increase the number of our members to 10,000, said:
The purpose of forming a group to defend the rights of saffron growers is to increase the price of saffron.
