According to the eight-month customs data, 152 tons and 602 kilograms of saffron worth $ 240 million worth of dollars were exported to target markets, which is expected to grow by 46 percent over the same period last year, with a weight of 32.46 percent and a value of 46 percent. The growing trend of exports will continue.
During the first nine months of this year, more than 160 tons of saffron were exported to different countries, which increased by 33.33 percent by weight and 26.05 percent, compared to the same period last year, including UAE, Hong Kong Kong, Spain, Afghanistan and China are at the top of the table.

Therefore, since the increase in saffron production in line with the Sixth Development Plan has been considered as the goal and model of the country’s future, the institutions and related collections have put in place measures to increase the production of this product and to solve the problems in its production. And recently, the stock exchange has started to open contracts for bargaining on saffron. According to experts, trades contracts allow farmers to secure sales at certain prices. In addition, given the low transaction costs and price transparency in the Iranian stock exchange, the entry of farmers into this market leads to the elimination of more intermediaries and the management of the price of saffron. Setting up and developing more commodity-based trades will ensure the farmer’s confidence in future prices and the decision to cultivate and sell in the future.
