Its habitat has migrated to other provinces of Iran and sometimes abroad.
Bulk exports
One of the saffron exporters in Kashmar announced the export of 75% of Iranian saffron in bulk and with packages weighing less than 10 grams and said: although Khorasan province has the first rank of Iranian saffron production and has the largest saffron production companies, but from He suffers from many problems.
Saeed Moazen, pointing out that Khorasan Razavi is the main producer of saffron in Iran, said: Saffron cultivation has become common in most cities of the province. Most of the saffron is produced in Kashmar city and red gold is exported to European countries and the Persian Gulf, considering that saffron is a low-yield product per hectare and its production does not exceed 3 to 5 kg per hectare on average. But with new technological methods, the yield of saffron can be increased.
This saffron exporter stated: by increasing the yield of saffron, the added value of this strategic product will increase.
He said: One of the target countries in the export of saffron in the province and the Tarshiz region, which includes over 90%, is Spain, and 10% of exports go mainly to Arab countries.

He said: Now about 95% of the world’s saffron is produced in Iran, of which Khorasan Razavi province has the largest share in Iran. However, other countries such as Afghanistan, Pakistan, Spain and more recently China also produce saffron.
