Successful implementation of saffron quality improvement project in Birjand
The Secretary of the Iranian Saffron Science and Industry Coordination Center said: After the successful implementation of the saffron quality improvement plan, the private sector has been practically encouraged to implement this plan.
Khalil Khalili said: Saffron Science and Industry Coordination Center is one of the first centers to be set up in Iran and is under the Vice President for Science and Technology.
Khalili, pointing out that the scope of activity of the center is Iran, clarified: because Khorasan is the center of saffron production, this center was formed in the province.
He mentioned the center’s goals as policy-making and monitoring in the field of Iranian saffron.
The secretary of the Iranian Saffron Science and Industry Coordination Center mentioned the production, distribution and export of the center’s activities.
Khalili, pointing out that the center has taken several actions during its activities, added: compiling a roadmap for Iranian saffron is one of the most important actions of the saffron center.
He continued: the saffron road map has been presented to the scientific deputy and after passing the legal steps, this map has been unveiled.
The secretary of Iran Saffron Science and Industry Coordination Center said that informing and communicating with all those related to saffron industry, including main producers and consumers, academic and research centers, trade and exporters, preparing a database of all those related to saffron industry are other activities of the center. .
Khalili, referring to the holding of festivals, specialized saffron seminars, continued: The implementation of model projects, including the plan to improve the quality of saffron products and create a certificate for saffron has been done successfully.
The secretary of the Iranian Saffron Science and Industry Coordination Center said: This center has not been able to perform its duties due to the lack of financial support during the last two years.
