Increase in production of 300 kg of dried saffron in Yazd province

He stated that the average dry production of this product is five kilograms per hectare, adding: This year, 2.8 tons of dry product will be harvested from 830 hectares of cultivated lands of this plant in the province, and last year Yazdi saffron farmers produced and sent 2.5 tons Domestic and foreign markets did.
Sheikh Alishahi, pointing out that due to the continuation of 2 decades of drought and water shortage in Yazd, with the implementation of the plan to change the planting pattern, the area of ??saffron cultivation in the province will be increased every year, said: It belongs to Yazd city with 6 hectares.
The director of horticulture of Yazd Agricultural Jihad Organization added: Due to the lack of water demand for this plant, this year 50 hectares were added to the total saffron cultivation of the province and its cultivation area reached 884 hectares.
