Saffron harvest began from 2,570 hectares of Taybad lands
Saffron harvest has increased by 23% compared to the previous crop year in Taybad.
Hossein Elhamipour, director of Taybad Agricultural Jihad, said:
Saffron harvest has started from 2,570 hectares of cultivated lands of this crop.
The director of city Agricultural Jihad added:
350 tons of fertilizer has been delivered to saffron growers for this product and 200 trays of sieves and heaters have been distributed among
saffron growers for hygienic drying of saffron.
Referring to the problems of saffron growers in city, he said:
Lack of livestock and chemical fertilizers, water shortage in the canals, water shortage due to successive droughts are the problems of farmers.
Elhamipour said to improve the situation of the saffron market:
Unfortunately, due to the desirable quality of this product in the Taybad,
the saffron growers of this city do not have a formation in the private sector. And
Another problem in harvesting this product is the lack of packaging facilities in the city.
