Director of Horticulture of Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Agricultural Jihad Organization
announced a 15% increase in saffron production in Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari.
Ebrahim Shirani stated that the area under saffron crop in this province is 238 hectares and said:
Last year, about 800 kg of saffron crop was harvested from 200 hectares in this province,
which this year due to the increase in area under cultivation Training and promoting users, increasing product production has occurred.
According to him, due to the climatic conditions in the province over the past few years, farmers have started to cultivate low-water crops,
including saffron, which is one of the government’s long-term plans to change the cultivation pattern and save water in the agricultural sector.
Referring to the increase in income of saffron farmers by changing the cultivation pattern, Shirani stated:
At the time of harvest, temporary employment will be provided for more than 50 people per hectare,
which according to the organization’s education and extension experts, four kilograms of flowers per hectare This product is obtained.
The director of horticulture affairs of Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Jihad Agricultural Organization informed about the export of more than 80% of the saffron produced in this province to Khorasan Razavi and said: the saffron produced in this province is exported abroad due to the desired quality with the brand of the mentioned province.
