Hashem Naghibi Saturday in an interview with IRNA reporter said from 69 thousand to 74 thousand hectares of saffron cultivation has reached that increase is relatively good.
He added that a 15% increase in saffron production in Khorasan Razavi, production from 218 tons to 250 tons.
Saffron cultivation is done in 29 city of Khorasan Razavi Zaveh city with 11 thousand hectares under cultivation and production of more than 38 tons of dried saffron production in the most strategic in the province.
Saffron is the world’s annual output of 330 tons, 310 tons of 94 percent in Iran.
More than 80 percent of the area under cultivation and production of saffron Iran belongs to Khorasan Razavi province.
117 million households in the province are busy saffron production in Khorasan Razavi average four kilograms per hectare.
