Is Iran Exporting Saffron Exports Improve?
Vice Chairman of the Saffron National Council said: Market stability and prices are the main cause of the export jump in saffron.
Gholamreza Miri said in an interview with Tesnim correspondent in Mashhad, Holy City, that the figures show that exports of saffron increased by 42 percent in the first seven months of this year.
He said: “This growth is due to the relative stability that dominates the markets, and it should be noted that the issue of increasing the rate of export of saffron in packages above 30 grams should also be considered in the statistics.
The vice president of the Saffron National Council, pointing to a fall in the price of this product over the previous harvest season, noted that these fluctuations are not at all suitable for the export market, and that this price rise should be managed.
Miri noted that last year some of the problems in the market arose that caused the export market to be challenged, and for that we could not take any measures. The domestic market should also be controlled and reviewed in all respects as the largest use of saffron in the domestic market of Iran takes place.
