Annual production of 400 tons of saffron in Khorasan Razavi
The head of the Khorasan Razavi Saffron Exporters Union said: Khorasan Razavi is the first saffron producer in the world with an annual production of more than 400 tons of saffron.
Gholamreza Miri added: More than 85% of saffron produced in Khorasan Razavi province is exported to foreign countries, especially European ones.
The head of the Khorasan Razavi Saffron Exporters Union added: Due to the restrictions imposed on exporters and they were required to return the currency from the export, which caused the saffron export from the province to decrease last year.
Miri said: The main reason for the decrease in saffron exports from Khorasan Razavi was the existence of disposable business cards.
He added: Saffron exporters in the province were required to provide the required currency through the Nima system and import with the currency obtained from exports, while importing saffron is not possible.
On the other hand, the base customs rate for saffron exports has changed, from $ 500 to $ 700 to $ 1,600 today, and this rate difference has increased export costs, Miri said.
