The beginning of harvesting gold from South Khorasan
According to the Southern Khorasan News Agency, the head of the Jihad Agricultural Organization predicted that 56 tons of saffron would be harvested from this level of land, 263 billion tomans, by the harvest of the world’s most sophisticated saffron.
The highest level of saffron cultivation in southern Khorasan with 4,449 hectares is dedicated to the city of Qain.
Hashem vali Pourmtalgol added: Saffron produced in the southern city of Kheyran, southern Khorasan, due to its quality, perfume and high coloring power, is the most exquisite saffron in the world, which has many customers in foreign countries, including Germany, Spain and the Gulf states.
36,500 saffron workers in the province will harvest their products by the end of December.
Last year, 54 tons of saffron were harvested from 15,14 hectares of agricultural land in South Khorasan.
