The director of Jihad Keshavarzi of Marvdasht city announced the beginning of harvesting saffron flowers from the farms of this city and added: it is predicted that an average of three kilos per hectare and a total of more than 100 kilos of dry saffron will be produced in this city.
Aziz Rahimi added: Saffron harvest in this city starts from the beginning of November and continues until the 20th of this month.
He stated that the cultivation of saffron in Marvdasht is increasing, he specified: Saffron is a drought tolerant crop and in recent years its cultivation in Marvdasht has reached 35 hectares, of which 32 hectares are fertile and the rest will be fertile next year. .
