Beginning of saffron harvest from 538 hectares in Estahban Fars
The director of Estahban Fars Agricultural Jihad announced: the saffron harvest started from 538 hectares of farms in this city.
Estahban Agricultural Jihad Management Public Relations added, quoting Mehdi Ayanmanesh: It is predicted that more than 276 tons of saffron flowers will be harvested from this level during the past year due to the good weather conditions.
He said: After harvesting saffron flowers, farmers separate the stigma from the petals and dry it, which in the local term is called flower filling, and finally the saffron flower stigma is bought and sold in the market in dried form.
