Beginning of saffron harvest in 25 hectares of land from Abadeh farms

The director of Jihad Keshavarzi of Abadeh city, said: saffron harvest started from 25 hectares of Abadeh farms.
Mehdi Amini, director of Jihad Keshavarzi in Abadeh, stated: The harvest of saffron in Abadeh begins in late October and continues until mid-December.

He pointed out that saffron onions have a high flowering capacity for up to seven years after cultivation and the method of propagation is through onions, he specified: each hectare of saffron provides employment for five people.

Amini added: Holding saffron cultivation training classes, regular monitoring of farms by management experts, observing the principles of proper nutrition, timely control of weeds and monitoring the process of transporting onions have been other services of agricultural jihad for farmers.

The director of Jihad Keshavarzi of Abadeh city continued: 5 kg of crop will be harvested from each hectare of cultivated land and it is predicted that more than 125 kg of saffron will be harvested in Abadeh this year.

He added: Due to the need for less water and more small agricultural lands in Abadeh, it is expected that the cultivation process of this crop in Abadeh will grow properly every year.
