Beginning of saffron harvest in 87 hectares of lands in Qazvin province
Ali Akbari, director of horticulture of the Jihad Agricultural Organization of the province, stated that the harvest of saffron has started from 87 hectares of agricultural farms in Qazvin province.
According to Akbari, the average yield of this product is 3 kg per hectare, which is expected to produce more than 220 kg of saffron.
He added: In Qazvin province, the development of saffron is well done and has desirable quantitative and qualitative effects, especially in Qazvin, Takestan, Abik and Buin Zahra can be developed.
Horticulture director of Jihad Agricultural Organization of the province said: saffron in dyeing, pharmaceutical, traditional medicine, food, confectionery, ice cream, distillates, essential oils, perfumery and cosmetics, food and syrup flavoring, sedative, antispasmodic, It is an appetite suppressant, stomach tonic, treatment of abdominal pain and asthma and is considered as a stimulant in the world.
