Chinese saffron dipped Iranian saffron export market
Speaking to the journalist of the industry, trade and agriculture, the journalist’s young business group, Jalil Mirza, head of the Union of Medicinal Herbal Exporter, said that, despite the current state of affairs, the fact remains that the export of these products is not the case.
“Although the United States and the European countries were among our greatest customers, but in recent years, due to sanctioning issues, medicinal herbs remain on the hands of producers,” he added.
Referring to the latest state of export of saffron, the store said: Saffron is one of the medicinal plants that has grown considerably due to its special importance in terms of its export food.
The head of the Union of Medicinal Herbal Extractors stated that there is no clear future for saffron, he said, with the entry of Chinese saffron into the market for Iranian saffron in target markets.
He criticized the high export tariffs for saffron, saying that some countries, including India, importing saffron into their country receive about 33 percent of the merchants, while Afghans export 4 percent of their product to the country.
According to the magazine, given that Iran is the largest saffron producer in the world, the Ministry of Commerce and Agriculture should consider measures to reduce export tariffs to India.
