Cultivation of saffron for the first time in Chalous
The director of Marzanabad Agricultural Jihad announced the cultivation of saffron for the first time in this section.
Disciple Jafar Salehi, stating that saffron is a plant that should be cultivated in dry lands, said: When our farmers went to the holy city of Mashhad to visit Imam Reza (AS), they brought a single saffron onion plant and planted it in their garden. They planted it, which would bear fruit after a year, and this led to the import of more onions. During the last year, one of the farmers in the region brought more onions from Mashhad and planted them in an area equivalent to 200 meters, which came to fruition this year, and this summer they propagated the same and planted in an area equivalent to 500 meters.
The director of Marzanabad Agricultural Jihad stated: This farm was visited during the last one or two days. Harvesting of onions planted last year has begun, indicating that the area is prone to growing more saffron.
Jafar Salehi stated: Other farmers in the region, seeing the suitable situation for planting saffron in this farm, thought of importing, buying and planting more saffron in their agricultural lands to increase its production in the region.
He stated that saffron needs a dry climate, he said: in terms of climate Marzanabad section is different from Chalous city and central Jaleh section, but how is the saffron grade in Marzanabad section according to the autumn rains, saffron experts should To judge. Saffron is a plant that should not be cultivated along the river because autumn dew has a negative effect on it.
Jafar Salehi, pointing out that the owner of the saffron farm in Marzanabad is very satisfied with the saffron brewed, said: How different is the produced product from the saffron products of Ghaenat Mashhad or how is its quality? The expert work of saffron experts, but its cultivation in the region gives hope for good days for farmers in the region to cultivate this crop.
