Cultivation of saffron in 13 hectares of agricultural lands in Ahar city

The director of Ahar Agricultural Jihad said: 13 hectares of agricultural lands in this city have been planted with saffron.

Mohammad Asadi stated: Saffron or red gold is one of the valuable and economical products that the production and planting of this product in rural agricultural lands can, in addition to creating employment, cause their economic prosperity.

He mentioned the important advantages of planting saffron as the need for low water, one year of planting and seven to 10 years of harvest, ease and the need for little space in storing this product.

He said: Fortunately, farmers and villagers are very interested in planting this important and economical crop, so that most of the area under cultivation of this crop is planted and harvested in Dailari village.

Asadi pointed out: The best time to harvest saffron is from the third year onwards, and four to eight kilograms are harvested per hectare.
