The director of agricultural affairs of the Jihad-e-Agriculture Organization of Hamedan province noted that in the year 2008, in Hamadan province, 52kg of saffron was produced in the country, which reached 548kg this year.

He added that the city of Malayer with 73 hectares and producing 261 kg, has the highest cultivation and production of saffron, and after that, the rice with 16 hectares of land and 65 kilos of production is in the second position of the province.
The director of agricultural affairs of the Jihad-e-Agriculture Organization of Hamedan province stated: The average yield of saffron production in Iran is Hamedan province 4 kilograms per hectare, which is higher than average in the country with 3.8 kilograms.
Shahbazi emphasized that saffron is one of the products with the lowest pests and diseases, said: The amount of water consumed per hectare of saffron is 3,000 cubic meters, which is very low.
Hamedan province has recently started to develop saffron cultivation and will gradually become one of the producers of saffron onion, he noted: Hamedan province ranked 14th in saffron cultivation and ranked 13th in terms of saffron production. .
