Forecast for harvesting 1372 kg dry saffron from Tabas fields in Iran
Davood Bakhshi, director of agricultural Jihad in Tabas, Iran, said: Saffron supportive action is being carried out by farmers in Tabas city by the Rural Cooperative Union.
He added: Due to the size of Tabas city and climate variation, saffron harvesting time varies in different parts of the city, but the highest level of cultivation of this product is in Dunteran and Dijuk areas.
Director of Agricultural Jihad in Tabas said the harvest of saffron from 404 hectares of gardens in the city will start from the second half of November and will continue until late December.
Former consecutive droughts predict that this year, nearly one thousand and 372 kilograms of dry saffron are expected to be harvested.
He stated: To improve saffron awareness and increase the quality of this product, two classes are the principles of proper planting, familiarity with diseases and pests of saffron and sanitary processing of saffron.
Director of Iran’s Tabas Agricultural Jihad said the services provided to saffron workers in addition to expert services and the provision of agricultural inputs such as fertilizers and poisons, the purchase of a garden cultivator for the retrieval of saffron farms in the city, the distribution of 112 kg of Suluptas fertilizer and 60 liters of humic acid To feed saffron farms, it was 12 hectares.
He added: To compensate for the damaging of the city’s saffron gardens, 39,525 million riyals have been allocated for a low-interest and long-term facility to 1,152 saffron workers for the 348th level and more than 20 percent of this credit has been absorbed by the exploiters. .
