Torbat Heydarieh, head of Jihad-e-Agriculture, added: “Drought, declining celestial rainfall, rising heat of last summer, frostbite of the current month are one of the factors affecting the decline in saffron harvest in this region.
Abbaspour said planting of saffron onion in the area of ​​Khor, from the beginning of August to September, and the beginning of the harvest season is from late October to the end of November.
He added: “There is a small need for blueberries and the proper employment of the benefits of saffron cultivation in this area.
Saffron is grown in rainfed, dripping and sometimes in traditional ways.
Torbat Heydariji is the harbor of saffron production in Khorasan Razavi.
Khorasan Razavi produces more than 80 percent of saffron in Iran and Iran about 90 percent of the world’s saffron.
