He added: “There is also a large number of saffron exporters, a negative competition in the export sector, and a lack of understanding of export regulations that lead to smuggling in this regard, is one of the other problems facing the saffron industry.
Managing director of a Saffron producing company, regarding the degree of compliance of saffron with a global standard, said: The standard in our saffron production is higher than the commercial standard.
“The directive will increase smuggling and exhaust the actual exporter of saffron, and the one-time exporter will replace it, which should be revised,” Sharia told Al-Shorfa.
He said that smuggling of saffron and the existence of disposable exporters in the saffron industry have created problems that need to be exported by those who specialize in this problem.
“Also, standard units and sanitary units should be responsible for the export of saffron,” he said. “We hope that the organization of industry, mining and trade will finalize its proposals and implement it.”
