Gonabad saffron was registered globally

Mohammad Hussein Emadi, Iran’s permanent representative in FAO, also recorded a global record of Iran’s saffron as another great achievement for our country.
He said Iran’s registration of saffron as a sustainable production system in the FAO is a very high point for the saffron industry and agricultural sector in Iran.
The first issue of this matter is to validate Iran’s saffron as the largest producer of saffron in the world.
The second most important factor is the increase in Iran’s value added of saffron, due to the fact that Ibnkah is recognized by international organizations and is given more credibility, which will naturally benefit farmers and producers.
Emadi added: “The third most important is the increase of international biosafety assistance of international organizations, especially FAO, with Iran. In this way, we can strengthen the sustainable production system of Iranian saffron and increase production and productivity, and stability of the production system We can increase saffron in Iran
According to the FAO, saffron of Gonabad city is considered as one of the geographic indexes of Iran. The share and rank of Iran’s production and exports in this field is a proof that this country is the first producer and in terms of quality is unique among other countries in the world.
FAO emphasizes that Khorasan Province is the world’s largest saffron producer.
