Harvesting 12 kg of saffron from 5 hectares in Sarein city
The director of Jihad Keshavarzi of Sarein city announced the harvest of 12 kg of quality saffron in Sarein.
Mohammad Ebrahim Mohammadi added: The saffron harvest, which started in mid-October in Sarein city, ended with the harvest of more than 12 kilograms of dry saffron from the saffron fields of this city.
The director of Sarein Agricultural Jihad said: Currently, saffron is cultivated on more than 5 hectares of the city’s lands. Due to the profitability and suitable climatic conditions of the region for the production of this product and the desire of local farmers to cultivate it, it is predicted that this crop will be cultivated. It will continue to rise in the region in the coming years.
He added: Saffron is one of the precious plants that has food and medicinal uses, and in the meantime, fast saffron has a very suitable aroma, taste and color, which also has many customers in the markets.
Mohammadi pointed out: Changing the pattern of cultivation and development and promoting strategic and important products that have a high value of Rials and have a very low water requirement, in line with the policies of the resistance economy, is a priority of this management.
