He added: According to the harvest forecast at the beginning of the season and despite the damage of 4 tons of dry saffron in the central part due to cold and frost, the amount of production has increased by one ton compared to last year.
Earlier, the director of Torbat Heydariyeh Agricultural Jihad had announced the damage of 225 billion rials of saffron farms in the central part of the cold part of the beginning of December.
Karimi Farzati acknowledged: The director of Jihad Keshavarzi called saffron one of the most important sources of employment and income in Torbat-e Heydarieh and stated: Employment has been created for about 400,000 people during the saffron planting and harvesting process.

One of the most significant products of this city, which is ranked first in Iran and the world, is saffron, which is cultivated on an area of ??eight thousand hectares with an annual production of 34 tons.
Out of a total of 70,000 hectares of land under saffron cultivation in Khorasan Razavi province, 8,000 hectares, ie equivalent to about 12% of the province, is allocated to the lands of Torbat Heydariyeh city. In the province, 117,000 families are engaged in saffron cultivation, of which between 14,000 and 15,000 families are allocated to Torbat Heydariyeh saffron farmers.
Currently, 220 people work per day per hectare of saffron land, for a total of 70,000 people with direct employment and two to three times this figure, indirect employment.
While the average production of saffron in the province is four kilograms per hectare, this figure is 4.2 kilograms per hectare in Torbat-e Heydarieh, which produces 32 tons of dry saffron per year for this region.
