Harvesting more than 10 thousand kg of saffron from Gonabad farms
The head of the Gonabad Rural Cooperative Office said:
During the current harvest season, 10,500 kilograms of saffron were harvested from 3,500 hectares of Gonabad farms.
Mohammad Mehdi Rezazadeh, head of the Gonabad Rural Cooperative Office, said:
The agreed purchase of saffron in Gonabad,
as one of the 10 agreed purchase centers, will start in mid-November and will continue until the end of December.
Referring to the guaranteed purchase of saffron in this city and the percentage of comparison with the same period last year, he said:
Welcome to the purchase of saffron in Gonabad has been appropriate so far saffron has been tested, analyzed, and evaluated.
Rezazadeh stated:
the quality of saffron in the city is in the high categories of standard and quality.
He added:
At the beginning of the purchase, forty% of the price
of saffron and the relaxation of the farmer’s call for may be paid to the farmers 3 months after the purchase date.
The head of the Gonabad Rural Cooperative Office stated:
The agreed purchase will be made in a volume of more than one kilogram and less than this amount will not be done due to problems in organizing and accumulating in the warehouse.
He added:
Farmers who produce less than one kilogram of saffron should present their product with other farmers in the form of aggregation.
Each kilogram of ordinary straw saffron is bought from farmers at the price of 44 million Rials, high quality straw 49 million Rials and saffron jewel at the price of 54 million Rials.
Rezazadeh pointed out:
