Harvesting Saffron Red Gold in Jahrom in Iran
Director of Agricultural Jihad in the city of Jahrom in Iran, announced the start of harvesting saffron in the city.
Mohammad Reza Shahabi added: One and a half hectares of Jahrom farms have been allocated to saffron cultivation, which is the highest cultivation area of the city’s khfr area.
He said that it was anticipated that 8 kg of saffron would be taken from these farms and sent to the market.
Director of Jihad-e Jahrom Agriculture in Jahrom said: Saffron onion has been cultivated since late September, and since the beginning of flowering, it has been harvested since mid-November.
Shahabi said the climate of the city has provided the proper conditions and the ability to produce pistachios, saffron and mud nursery.
