Reza Pourfollah, Director of Agricultural Jihad in Sari, Iran, pointed out the necessity of educating farmers and farmers’ skill in cultivating the empowerment of 90 exploiters of saffron for the cultivation and cultivation of saffron medicinal herbs in the ten months of this year.
He stated that in recent decades climate change has led to the promotion of the planting of certain plants that have less water requirement, and because of this, the cultivation of medicinal plants is on the agenda of agricultural production, he said: Currently, 80 thousand square meters of land Sloppy and low-yielding Sari city was allocated to saffron cultivation, which increased by 2.5 times compared to the previous year.
According to the changes in the crop pattern and the low water requirement, this product has been introduced as a priority pattern of medicinal herbs for the development of cultivation and production and is supported by training classes and technical advice from farmers.
This led to a lack of satisfactory understanding of saffron due to inadequate information regarding saffron cultivation and suggested a way to increase the productivity of saffron cultivation by raising the level of information and knowledge of farmers.
Director of Sari Agricultural Jihad emphasized the lack of use of chemical pesticides and their replacement with biological fertilizers, raising the level of scientific knowledge of farmers and cultivating even at very small levels as programs for the development of medicinal plants cultivation.
