Iranian saffron exports are peaking again

A member of the National Saffron Council announced a 50 percent reduction in the base rate of saffron exports
over the past few days and stressed that this would increase saffron exports again.

Ali Hosseini – Vice President of the Association of Barberry and Saffron Producers and Exporters of South Khorasan said:
From December 1 this year, the basic export rate per kilogram of saffron for exporters was set at $ 3,300,
while they sold about $ 1,500 in world markets.

He said that saffron exporters suffered about three months from the export of this product,
adding that after setting a new rate for saffron exports in the past three months,
exporters were forced not to export saffron or to export this product with other exporters’ cards because in At the end of the year,
they will have to pay the difference between the exchange rate and the free export of saffron to renew their export card.

The member of the National Saffron Council continued:
Over the past few days, the basic export rate of each kilogram of saffron has decreased by about 50% to $ 1,500,
which will cause exporters to continue the natural process of exporting this product from now on.

Hosseini said:
According to the available statistics, saffron exports have faced a significant decrease in the last three months, which we hope will increase appropriately.
