The head of the Farouj governorate said:

Masoud Sadegh, pointing out that the saffron harvest season has started from the farms of this city, added:

Regarding the purchase of saffron in this area, he said:
In the last two years, the saffron market has been selling in this city in order to facilitate the purchase And the sale of this product was launched, but it was not welcomed by saffron growers in this city And that’s why the market didn’t open last year.
Sadegh said that last year the price of saffron increased due to the price of the dollar But it has declined this year, he said:
So that saffron growers are not harmed by the low price of saffron Guaranteed purchase must be made by the rural cooperative.
He stated:
Guaranteed purchase of saffron in 1996 And the necessary correspondence and follow-up to buy this product is also underway this year.
Saffron harvest in North Khorasan is expected to reach 18 tons this fall And most of the saffron produced in this province belongs to Farooj city 75% of North Khorasan saffron is produced in this city.
The area under saffron cultivation in this province is 3,206 hectares Which is over two thousand hectares in the city of Farouj.
