The governor of Ahar city announced the planting of saffron in two hectares of agricultural lands in Ahar city for the first time.

Karim Abedi said in the fourth session of the province’s planning council: A permanent bazaar for handicrafts and tourism with a focus on Verni will be built in Ahar by the end of this year, and the area of ​​this bazaar and exhibition will be one hectare.

The governor of Ahar city named the Ahar-Tabriz highway project as one of the most vital projects in the province and said: According to the approved and scheduled plan, the first phase of this project has started from 1393 with a length of 50 km, which will be fully completed by 1396. Abedi stressed the need to invest in Ahar tourism-prone areas and said: At present, the drinking water needed by the people of Ahar is supplied through the water resources of Sattar Khan Dam, which has a capacity of 70 million cubic meters.

Abedi continued: Azadegan Dam is another dam in Ahar city that if the necessary measures are taken to supply drinking water to the people of Ahar from this dam, more can be done to create tourism infrastructure on the outskirts of Sattar Khan Dam.

The governor of Ahar city announced the readiness of a local investor to build a four-star hotel in Ahar and added: The construction of this hotel will be possible only if the land use is changed and the necessary permits are obtained, and according to the investor, if the necessary permits are obtained, this hotel It will be operational within the next year and a half.

Abedi described the improvement of the cultivation pattern in the agricultural lands of Ahar city as another important priority of this city and added: This year, for the first time in more than two hectares of the city lands, we have planted saffron, which we are waiting to harvest in the coming years. Use saffron from the agricultural lands of the region.

According to him, planting peppermint and barberry is another crop grown in Ahar agricultural lands in order to improve the cultivation pattern.
