He said that 25 hectares of land in Saffron was cultivated in the city, said that according to the estimates, the harvest per hectare was four kilograms of saffron.
Pohyyah said that the city has 82,000 hectares of cultivated arable land, saying that in order to promote and cultivate saffron cultivation in the agricultural land of the city, efforts should be made.
He pointed out that at least three percent of the county’s land should be planted under saffron cultivation, adding that the Ministry of Jihad-e-Agriculture will provide the necessary support and facilities to farmers who grow low-yielding products.
Director of Agriculture Jihad Province Malayer added: “Farmers who receive multiplication of saffron bulbs and seedlings and create nursery golmohammadi will receive special facilities and credits.

Director of Agriculture Department at Malayer University, also said that there are currently no detailed statistics on the cultivation of saffron. Most of the producers of this product in Hamadan province are producing relatively small crops in the area of less than one hectare.
Majid Rostami said: “However, according to official statistics about 55 hectares of land in the province of Hamedan is under cultivation of saffron.
He added: “With the support of the provincial agricultural authorities, it is anticipated that, due to the growing trend of this product’s welcome, by the year 1400 the cultivation area of saffron in Hamedan province will reach more than 500 hectares.
Director of Agriculture Department at Malayer University said: “The expansion of the cultivation area of this product requires the development of a comprehensive plan at the provincial level and the technical and economic support of the relevant organizations. In this regard, the Department of Agriculture of the University of Malayer declares readiness for technical and scientific support for this project. .
He said: “In line with economic support, providing a healthy and inexpensive barley is one of the priorities of the production of this product. Currently, the price of saffron bottles in the province is more than twice the price in the eastern part of the country, which has increased the initial cost of production. .
Rustami pointed out that the Malayer University of Agriculture since 2009 has carried out research projects on the feasibility of producing this product in the west of the country. The scientific production of this product has been made in many parts of the province.
He established the assembly of Saffron producers in the city of Malayer in cooperation with the Agricultural Jihad Department and holding workshops on the scientific production of this product in the provinces of Hamedan, Central and Lorestan as among the activities carried out in Malayer.
Director of Agriculture Department at Malayer University said: Since farmers in western provinces and in particular Hamedan province do not have enough information about the production of this product, so in some cases there are problems due to non-observance of technical points.
He reminded, including the use of inappropriate, contaminated or very tiny stands.
Rustami added: “Failure to observe the density and depth of planting or the proper irrigation time is another reason to reduce yield and reduce production.
He noted that this year, in some fields of saffron, the province suffered from late autumn rainfall due to late flowering, which led to a decrease in yield and a decrease in the quality of the stigma.
The director of the company, Rubat Sarkh Malayer, also said that the cultivation of saffron has begun in the city for several years, adding that the construction of new fields of saffron was only possible by onion, that the preparation and selection of high-quality onions for planting in the development and cultivation of crops It is important.

He said: “It is better to plant the bulbs after they are removed from the ground, so that they can stay resting on the new ground; the best time to move the saffron onion is June and August.
“It’s even possible to plant onion until mid-October, but the flowering of the first year is decreasing, so the better the distance between bulbs to planting is less,” said the director of the Ruby Malayer Company.
He continued, “Saffron onion can be planted from the bush (from early June to mid-October), but it is better to avoid planting the onions in late July and mid-August.”
Taheri said: “At this time, the weather and the earth are very hot and it is feared that the moisture of the onion will disappear when it is displaced and damaged, which, according to the research, is the best time of the June harvest.
Referring to the low water content of saffron, he added: “Given the need for one or two times a year in saffron, as well as high resistance to environmental stresses, saffron as a strategic and alternative product can be used as an appropriate alternative cropping pattern Prey products are in the province.
Taheri said: Due to the good rainfall in Hamadan province and the need for saffron in October, this product can grow well without irrigation.
He said that saffron’s resistance to frost is high, he continued: “The special advantages of saffron cultivation are that it is planted once and is harvested for seven years, and the end of the seven-year period is also five times the amount of onion planted in the first year The producer returns that this could bring a significant amount to producers, in addition to selling saffron produced over seven years.
The director of the Ruby Red Malay Company said the economic justification for the product since the second year and said: Since saffron bulbs are left on the ground for seven years and even up to 15 years, the soil should be a lightweight or combination of sand and clay that can be onion During this time, in addition to providing food, it will also resist regional specific conditions.
“Selected bulbs should be thicker, more healthy, scarred and free of any diseases, and they should be planted in rows of depths of 15 to 20 centimeters.”
Taheri stated: According to the calculations, every 150,000 flowers of saffron produce more than one kilogram of dry saffron, in other words, at least 6 kg of saffron per hectare.
He said: “The cultivation of this product has taken place in Hamedan in recent years, and in recent years, the production of this product has flourished.
