Prediction of harvesting 1600 kg of saffron in Natanz
The director of Natanz Agricultural Jihad said: with the beginning of the saffron harvest season in Natanz, it is predicted that about 1,600 kilograms of dry saffron will be harvested in this region this year.
Abdolreza Mehdi Badi stated: With the beginning of saffron harvest from 240 hectares of farms under cultivation of this crop, it is predicted that 1,600 kilograms of dry saffron will be harvested in Natanz.
He said that the saffron harvest starts from the end of October and continues until the end of November, adding: Saffron production is very economical and in addition to the profit from the sale of the product, the seasonal employment of about 400 citizens of Natanz city Creates.
The director of Natanz Agricultural Jihad said: The benefits of cultivating this profitable plant along with drought resistance and lack of water in recent years, the cultivation of this product has been able to play a constructive role in the region’s economy and the realization of a resistance economy.
Regarding the granting of facilities to farmers, he specified: We have tried to provide the ground for the development of saffron cultivation in Natanz city by granting facilities and also supporting farmers active in this sector.
Mehdi Badi, pointed out: Saffron cultivation has a long history in mountainous areas and due to the low water requirement of this plant, its cultivation in the desert part of Badrud has also been well received.
