Production of high quality saffron in Ardabil province exceeded 100 kg
Ardabil Deputy Minister of Crop Production Improvement of Ardabil Jihad Agricultural Organization said: Fortunately, saffron growers in Ardabil province managed to produce 104 kg of high quality and fragrant saffron this year, and the average yield of saffron orchards per hectare reached 2 kg and 200 g.
Ahmad Shahriyar announced this news and added: in order to successfully implement the policy of reforming the cultivation pattern and also the optimal use of agricultural water and increase the economic income of farmers, more than 38 tons of high quality saffron onions were distributed among saffron farmers in the province.
The official added: The amount of subsidy allocated for the purchase of saffron onions was 12 tons and 800 kg 64 million rials, which we hope due to the extensive training in extension workshops and individual training, as well as various training programs from Ardabil Center TV. These farmers are given to the province to see more and more of the area under cultivation of this valuable product in the province.
Shahriar stated: A total of 32 hectares of saffron orchards in an area of ??less than one hectare are managed by 167 farmers and nearly 26 hectares above one hectare are managed by 15 farmers.
