Projection of production of 400 kg of saffron in Kermanshah Iran
According to Khosrow Shahbazi, chairman of the Agricultural Jihad in Kermanshah Province, Iran, referring to the cultivation of saffron cultivation in the province since 2011, said that until the last year, 105 hectares of cultivated saffron had been cultivated with 106 hectares this year. And now we have 211 hectares of cultivation of saffron in the province.
Shahbazi announced the average harvest of saffron from the province’s farms by four kilograms per hectare and said: Considering that the new farms have not yet been produced, this year it is expected that we will have 400 kg of saffron production in the province.
He pointed to the province’s proper conditions for producing saffron and said: There is a potential to produce saffron in the province per hectare up to 30 kilos.
Shahbazi pointed to the quality of production saffron in the province and said: Quality of Saffron province with saffron produced in the provinces of Khorasan equals.
He also noted the plans for the development of saffron cultivation in the province and said that with these plans, in the not-so-distant years, saffron production in the province will grow significantly.
According to Shahbazi, there are currently two saffron packaging workshops in Kozaran and Niloufar Sarab.
