Reduction of saffron consumption inside Iran
According to Gholamreza Miri: During the last twenty days, the price of saffron has been constant and now, its minimum price is 6 million and maximum is 10 million.
Regarding the slowdown in saffron exports due to the January holidays, he added: Domestic consumption of this product has also decreased.”
He attributed the decline in domestic consumption to the economic situation of the people.
He continued: We do not have accurate statistics on domestic sales of saffron, but the sales trend of companies shows a decline in purchases.
Miri considered January, February and March as a time for the domestic market to stagnate.
He added: Currently, people buy saffron on a long-term basis, meaning that sellers are willing to sell their goods in cash, otherwise they will not trade. These reasons, in total, have reduced domestic consumption.
Gholamreza Miri said about the 46% growth of saffron exports until the end of November: We can not make any predictions about the price, everything depends on the supply and demand, currently the market conditions are balanced.
