Ali Hosseini, a member of the National Saffron Council, in an interview with Ilna’s reporter, said about the release of saffron onion and the removal of its 10-year ban on exports, the Khorasan Agricultural Engineering Organization has taken up this issue. I have also heard from the media as the vice president of the association of producers and exporters that there has been no consultation with the associations. The ban on export of saffron onion for several years was eliminated, and for the first time technical supervision, organization and issuance of permits for saffron onion to other provinces were delegated to the engineering organization.
He emphasized: was it advisable to consult with the organizations and those who work in this field and put their lives in the cultivation and harvesting of saffron?
Hosseini continued, “It is unclear what kind of equipment should be done on saffron onion, and there is not much study in this regard.
A member of Saffron National Council in response to the smuggling of saffron bulbs from neighboring countries said that for many years this product has left the borders of the country, which has led to an increase in the production of this product in neighboring countries, such as Afghanistan. Serious measures must be taken to prevent the trafficking of this product, and officials should not be indifferent to this issue.
