Natural Saffron and hypotension
The investigation by a doctor Ayman M. Shahidi , doctor and doctor Yasir Jawad Hussain Hossein Zadeh, pour the faculty , School of Pharmacy, Mashhad University of Medical Sciences has been done.
In this study , the effect of Natural saffron extract and its component , crocin and Saffranal, reducing blood pressure in normotensive and hypertensive drug ( Dezoksy corticosterone acetate ) has been studied .
In this study , three doses of crocin (50mg/kg , 100 , 200 ) Safranal (25/0, 5/0, 1 mg / kg) and aqueous extract (5/2, 5, 10 mg / kg) intravenously divided into 5 groups of animals were injected with normal or high blood pressure and their effect on mean arterial blood pressure (MABP) and heart rate were evaluated.
According to the report , Natural Saffron extract , crocin and Saffranal, arterial blood pressure in a dose -dependent manner in animals with normal blood pressure and hypertension was reduced .
For example , administration of 10 mg / kg of aqueous extract , 1mg/kg Safranal and 200mg/kg crocin , respectively 7/8 + – 60 , 2/5 + – 50 and 8/3 + -51 mm Hg reduction in blood pressure will .
According to these results, we can say that the aqueous extract of Natural Saffron has hypotensive effects that seem , at least , part of it is due to a combination of two active ingredients in the plant , crocin and Saffranal, be Safranal down blood pressure , greater potency is crocin .
It is the active ingredient in Natural Saffron are crocin and Safranal two .
