Saffron was planted in Bam city

Reza Tesh said this morning, on the sidelines of visiting the saffron farm in the village of Dyer, said the cultivation of saffron with two hectares in the city began and now has reached eight hectares.

The Governor of Bam said: Saffron with very low water requirement is one of four products that have been defined according to the policy of changing the pattern of cultivation for the Bam with temperate mountainous conditions and ranges.

He added: “Since the year 89, the first needs of saffron in the village of Dyer was cultivated by a farmer and after two years of economic return, and now the farm’s performance is six kilograms per hectare, including the possibility of onion production for development and proliferation.

Governor of Bam said that earning high salaries for saffron per hectare is two to three people with a temporary employment of 200 working days in the case of weed disposal, harvesting and packaging.

The teardrop noted: The average rill yield per hectare of saffron is 25-30 million tomans gross and the cost of preparing for each hectare for the first year is 20 to 24 million tomans.

The governor of Bam said: Saffron onion can be used at a cost of about 18 million tomans for seven consecutive years.
