The governor of Zaveh said: the transportation of saffron onions by vehicles without the license of Jihad Keshavarzi is considered as an example of smuggling.

Mohammad Ismail Yaghoubzadeh emphasized in the meeting of the Commission for Combating Commodity and Currency Smuggling of the province: From now on, a case will be filed by the police for the carriers of saffron onions without obtaining the permission of the Jihad Agriculture Department.

He added: Legal steps will be followed by the Penitentiary until the verdict is issued.

Yaghoubzadeh mentioned the decision of the joint meeting of the commissions for combating smuggling of goods and foreign exchange on May 15 last year as an appropriate measure to combat the smuggling of saffron onions and added: And joint actions by these two institutions.

The governor of Zaveh also mentioned the pursuit of establishing a checkpoint in the city in order to prevent the possible departure of saffron onions, holding a meeting with Islamic councils, villagers and other trustees for more coordination and taking the necessary decisions.

In the end, he expressed hope that the measures taken will lead to stopping the process of illegal departure of saffron onions from Zaveh city.
