Six tons of saffron were issued / 64 countries ask for Iranian saffron
Iran is recognized as one of the largest saffron producers in the world, and annually exports significant quantities of this valuable product to the country.
According to some officials, about 90 percent of Iran’s saffron is produced in Iran, and Iran is the first and the largest exporter of this product.
According to statistics, in the year 97, Iran exported saffron to 64 countries, including the United Arab Emirates, Spain, Afghanistan, Vietnam, Qatar, Belgium, Sweden, Africa, the Netherlands, Greece and Canada.
According to customs statistics, in the first 10 months of the year 97, 226 tons of saffron were exported in packaging, bulk, ready for retail, and chopped from Iran’s origin to different countries of the world.
The study shows that the export of saffron during the mentioned period amounts to 294 million and 348 thousand and 797 dollars of currency.
According to this report, the Iranian riyal revenues from the export of saffron in the first 10 months of the year of 1997 amounted to 1,388.616 billion and 73,919 tomans in customs statistics.
With these interpretations, it is possible to find more targeted countries of export and increase the production of this product in different parts of the country in the field of non-oil goods exports, and with increasing demand, increased demand for this precious product in the world.
On the other hand, due to the cultivation of this product in warm and dry areas and low use of water for the production of saffron, it can be cultivated in many parts of the country, and by creating jobs in the villages of the country, it used significant foreign exchange earnings.
