The area under saffron cultivation in Rafsanjan is 35 hectares
The director of Jihad Keshavarzi of Rafsanjan city said:
by the end of last year, the area under saffron cultivation in this city has become 35 hectares,
and this year we bought 40 tons of saffron onions for new cultivation.
Hossein Rezaei stated:
Due to the problems that include pistachios in terms of water and climatic conditions, and every year they damage this strategic product of the region,
so turning to alternative products and greenhouse crops is the way to save the city’s economy and employment along with industry.
He added:
Greenhouse cultivation has flourished very well and good greenhouses have been established in different areas of the city,
so that we have issued licenses for 82,000 square meters for the Kashkuyeh area,
and in total we have issued licenses for 33,000 hectares of greenhouses in the whole city. Becomes equal.
He noted that in the Rafsanjan plain, no product is better than pistachios:
However, items such as saffron, barberry and rosemary in the region have economic justification.
The director of Rafsanjan Agricultural Jihad stated:
The area under saffron cultivation in susceptible areas such as Raviz, Khonaman,
Sarcheshmeh and has increased so that by the end of last year the area under saffron cultivation reached 35 hectares
and we bought 40 tons of onions for this year.
