The new price of saffron was announced
Saffron National Saffron Council said that the price of saffron has risen by about one million tons over the past week, said saffron supply in the stock market requires strategy.
Ali Hosseini, in an interview with Mehr, announced the price of one kilogram of saffron at least 6 million and the maximum between 12 and 13 million tomans, saying that the price of this commodity has risen by nearly a million tomans within a week.
He argued that raising issues on the supply of saffron in the exchange has caused such fluctuations, adding: “Some people think we oppose the supply of this commodity on the exchange, while this is not the case, we believe the stock exchange should have a strategy to do this.” .
Member of Saffron National Council said: Firstly, the stock should offer saffron in processed and packaged form, and should not be used for crude and bulky goods; secondly, supply of processed products from the product that create value added.
Husseini said that farmers are expected to benefit from the supply of saffron on the stock exchange, adding that 70 to 80 percent of this saffron is not farmed; it is either available to factories or brokers; therefore, its offering on the exchange is more in favor of brokers than farmers.
He added: Saffron is not available in the form produced by the farmer.
The private sector activist also said that there is still no new data on the export of saffron from the customs, said the latest figures for November indicate the growth of exports.
