The UAE and Spain are the largest buyers of Iranian saffron

20,403 tons of medicinal and industrial plants worth 72 million and 833 thousand dollars were exported in the first eight months of this year,
which has decreased by 32% in terms of weight and increased by 20% in terms of value compared to the same period last year.
Among medicinal and industrial plants, saffron had the highest export.
According to the public relations of Iran’s customs, in the first eight months of this year,
which is 33% in weight and 54% in value compared to the same period last year. Shows the percentage increase.
The UAE with 10 million and 505 thousand dollars, Spain with eight million and 205 thousand dollars, Saudi Arabia with one million dollars,
Sweden with 868 thousand and 885 dollars and France with 565 thousand and 474 dollars have the highest amount of saffron imports
from Iran in Dedicated eight months of this year.
The mentioned countries imported a total of 21 million and 246 thousand dollars of saffron from Iran. According to the report,
the export figure of tobacco reached 4 million and 365 thousand dollars, which increased by 94% compared to the same period last year.
In the first eight months of this year, 737 tons of licorice root worth $ 479,816 were exported,
which shows a growth of 160% and 300% in terms of weight and value, respectively, compared to the same period last year.
During the same period, the export of cotton reached $ 169,262, which was a decrease of 96% in terms of weight and value compared
to the first eight months of last year.
India, Iraq, Turkey, Italy and Pakistan were major importers of medicinal and industrial plants from Iran during the first eight months of this year.
