Pointing out that saffron is a monopoly product, he said: We are still facing a recession in the export market, but due to the monopoly of saffron, its situation is better than other products.
The head of the Khorasan Razavi Saffron Exporters Union added: This year, saffron exports were not as expected. Our forecast for this year was 200 tons of saffron and we had a good performance in April and May, but given the sharp fluctuations in saffron prices in recent months, forecast Export of 200 tons of saffron is not realized.
Miri stated that the amount of saffron exports until the end of August this year was 48 tons and 73 kg, said: This amount was 47 tons 158 kg in the same period last year and in general we did not see much increase, it is predicted that until November Do not increase exports.
He stated that the price of saffron is still high in the market, and said: During the last five days, we have seen an increase of 150 to 200 thousand tomans per kilo of saffron.
Currently, the saffron available in the saffron market is traders, because the farmers sold almost all of their produce, Miri said.
The head of the Khorasan Razavi Saffron Exporters Union stated: There is always a market need, and if new saffron arrives in the market with a delay, we will inevitably turn to brokers to meet the needs.
He assessed the current situation of saffron as unfavorable and said: Unless the saffron, its exporters and producers are supported, the situation will not improve and this issue will go to the point where the saffron product, like other products, will be destroyed.
